In September 2018 the CDC released a new report estimating that 50 million Americans – just over 20 percent of the adult population – have chronic pain. About 20 million of them have “high-impact chronic pain” — pain severe enough that it frequently limits life or work activities. The estimates are based on the 2016 National Health Interview Survey of over 33,000 adults.
Approximately 54 million adults and 300,000 children in the U.S. have been diagnosed with arthritis or some other type of rheumatic disease causing joint pain according to the Arthritis Foundation (AF).
If you consider all of the individuals who have arthritis but have not yet been diagnosed, the AF suggests that the true count is likely closer to 91.2 million in total. To make matters even worse, that number is expected to grow by 49 percent by the year 2040.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 116 people died every-day from opioid-related drug overdoses in 2016. Forty percent of these deaths involved a prescription opioid and in 2017, the government declared the opioid crisis a public health emergency. Opioids are typically prescribed by health care providers as a way to manage and treat pain. But what if there was a natural better solution?
Some medications and treatment programs can potentially help ease these negative effects, but many people are searching for a more natural pain relief option. This is where Elemental Pain Management Program comes into play. The Elemental Pain Management Program combines CBD, Elements MSM, Elements Spray, and Keto Hydrolyzed Collagen peptides when required. The synergy, when used in combination, is where the real magic begins.
Lets start with some info on CBD and how it supports pain management.
Research on CBD and pain management has shown great promise and people are increasingly turning to cannabinoid therapy as the harms of opioids garner more attention and scrutiny.
A majority of CB1 receptors are located in the brain and are associated with cognitive actions related to coordination, mood, thinking, memory, and appetite. The CB2 receptors, on the other hand, can be found in the immune system. This makes them more responsible for the body’s response to pain and inflammation.
However, CBD impacts the CB2 receptors. And it does so indirectly, not by attaching to the CB2 receptor, but by enticing the body to make more of its own cannabinoids. This creates a positive effect on the body’s pain and inflammation responses.
People who are using CBD to treat pain are feeling the effects of their endocannabinoid system binding to cannabinoids, creating the desired analgesic effects on the body. This is a natural body process.
A study published in the journal Pain in December 2017 analyzed whether CBD could prevent osteoarthritis pain and joint neuropathy. Based on their findings, researchers affirmed that it did both because it decreased joint inflammation and served as a protectant to the nerves.
Other studies have reported positive effects for individuals taking CBD to ease their fibromyalgia pain, many of whom only experienced mild side effects from this chemical compound, such as dry mouth, drowsiness, and dizziness.
Chronic pain can be nociceptive or neuropathic. Nociceptive pain is the most common and is caused by tissue damage and inflammation. It’s characterized by throbbing, aching, and sharp pain. Neuropathic pain is caused by damage to the nervous system and can feel like stabbing, burning, or tingling pain. Studies on cannabinoids and pain demonstrate that CBD can treat both types of pain.
Elements MSM
What is MSM? MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a naturally occurring organic sulphur compound that acts as a major building block of complex proteins called glycosaminoglycans, key structural components of joint cartilage. MSM is made up of 34% sulfur – the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body.
Since MSM has powerful anti–inflammatory properties, it’s often used as a natural alternative to medications to improve arthritis-related symptoms. … Summary MSMsupplements have been shown to help reduce pain and stiffness in people with arthritis. They may also help improve physical function.
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulfur compound that’s naturally derived during the earth’s rain cycle. Sulfur is present in many natural unprocessed foods, but it’s quickly lost during the cooking process. MSM is gaining a lot of attention due to the recent focus on longevity and anti-aging technologies.
New research has been supporting the effectiveness of MSM supplementation. A2008 study in the FASEB Journal found that supplementing the diet with MSM can increase the amount of glutathione in theliver. … This study shows that MSM protects the liver from damage by toxins.
Studies have shown that MSM significantly reduces inflammation in your body. It also inhibits the breakdown of cartilage, a flexible tissue that protects the ends of your bones in joints (1). … Summary Studies have shown that MSM is effective in reducing joint pain, stiffness, and swelling.
MSM works together with Vitamin C to build new, healthy tissues. MSM can normalize collagen formation and radically improve skin health. Research has shown that MSM is highly effective in improving joint flexibility. Additionally, it helps to produce flexible skin and muscle tissue.
MSM has powerful detoxifying and anti-inflammatory benefits, strengthens theskin’s support matrix and helps combat the symptoms of conditions such as eczema, acne, and psoriasis.
One of the most important features of MSM is that it makes your cells more permeable. This means that it allows toxins and metabolic waste products to easily be moved out of the cells, while essential nutrients and hydration can be moved in. It’s a calcium phosphate dissolver, so it has a remarkable ability to break up the bad calcium that’s at the root of degenerative diseases.
Sulfur is needed to form connective tissue. MSM also seems to act as an analgesic by lessening nerve impulses that transmit pain. Studies: A 2006 pilot study of 50 men and women with knee osteoarthritis showed that 6,000 mg of MSM improved symptoms of pain and physical function without major side effects.
MSM is also great for seasonal allergies. Those that suffer from allergies are generally under-methylators. MSM improves methylation and reduces allergy symptoms. It takes a couple of days for MSM to start working. As soon as the trees bud in the spring start with ½ tsp. of MSM dissolved in 4 oz. of cold spring water. Increase to 1 tsp. if symptoms persist.
At the DMSO Clinic at Oregon Health Sciences University, MSM has been used in the treatment of many patients for a variety of conditions including:
Severe accident-related pain degenerative arthritis rheumatoid arthritis
Fibromyalgia back pain headaches
Muscle soreness tendonitis bursitis
Carpel tunnel syndrome interstitial cystitis scleroderma
Athletic strains cold sores shingles
TMJ Bell’s palsy IBS
What Is Keto?
Keto is a powdered form of medium-chain triglycerides combined with hydrolyzed collagen peptides. MCT’s are more rapidly absorbed by the body and more quickly metabolized as fuel. Collagen is the most important component of the dermis and connective tissues in the body and you lose 1 – 1 ½ percent per year after the age of 25. Keto is added to the program if there is a requirement to rebuild connective tissue or degradation of the joints.
Dosage
CBD – 15 drops held under the tongue for 60 to 90 seconds.
CBD Cream – apply to specific painful areas of the body.
MSM – Start with ½ tsp. dissolved in approximately 4 oz. of cold spring water. Remain at this dose for 3 – 4 days and if the pain remains increase dose to ½ tsp. twice per day. Gradually increase the dose until the pain subsides. Two to five grams works best for most people. Individuals with more aggressive forms of pain may require ten grams per day in divided doses and additional time for the effects to be felt.
One level kitchen teaspoon equals 5 grams of MSM or 5,000 mg; one level tablepoon equals 15 grams of MSM or 15,000 mg of MSM.
Elements Spray – Apply 20 – 25 sprays to the body, i.e. lower back, hips, hamstrings… concentrating on soft tissue areas or painful areas of the body avoiding direct contact with eyes, mucus membranes, and other sensitive areas such as your face. You may notice a slight salt-like mineral residue remaining when the solution dries. A slight tingling sensation may occur during the first uses of the product. If the sensation persists add some water to the area to dilute. Most of the absorption is done within the first 30 minutes of contact. Must be used every day to increase mineral levels in the body to benefit conditions such as high blood pressure, spasms, anxiety, arthritis, PMS, cramps, headaches…
Keto – 1 to 3 scoops (Tbls.) per day.
